It’s Not Too Late for a Yearplan!

𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 2022 for your company? If not, don’t worry, it’s not too late! Check out what it should include below. Believe us, it doesn’t have to take long (a few hours should be enough), and you won’t regret it. It will help keep you focused, allocate resources to the right things, and make progress to achieving your ambitions.

Here is what is good to include:

✅ 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: Hopefully you have these already (If not, you should!). Include them in your plan to remind you of the broader picture and why you do what you do.

✅ 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 2021: What important things happened in 2021? What did you achieve? What did you learn? What did you not achieve and why?

✅ 𝐆𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬 2022: What 3-5 goals do you have for 2022 to help achieve your vision and mission?

✅ 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 2022: What 5-10 concrete initiatives/projects/actions do you need to undertake this year to achieve your goals? Who is responsible for them and in which quarter will you focus on what? (𝘛𝘐𝘗: 𝘛𝘳𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘣𝘦 𝘢 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳, 𝘧𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘹 3 𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘲𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘳)

✅ 𝐊𝐏𝐈𝐬 & 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐬: How will you measure your success and what are you aiming for?

𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫. But that doesn’t have to be difficult, it just requires discipline. Make sure you take time to review and recalibrate the plan every month or quarter. Having implementation plans for each initiative is also helpful.

It’s a great document not only for yourself but also to share with your stakeholders (employees, customers, investors, suppliers, partners, etc.) to communicate what you will be focusing on in 2022.
